So, Friday i bought 3 used 12AU7s from my local music shop.
They were just some extra stuff they had in the back. Now, im not sure if they are like NOS or what brand they are; one is in an RCA box the other two had no package, but they are all labeled Baldwin pianos and organs on the tubes. The shop gave me three for the price of two cause he said more than likely one of them wont work.
To my surprise all three worked just fine! Until tonight, right in the middle of playing i lost all sound out of my amp, pulled the cover off found that V1 was light up V2 was not. So, i figured no biggie, swapped it out for the other one.
So after about 15-20 minutes i decided to double check, put the tube back in V2 turned on my amp and it worked!
So, my question is, is this something that should concern me that there might be something not working with my amp. OR, should i just chalk it up to tubes are a finicky mistress and that tube is probably on its last leg?
