Tube Works Tube Driver - what's it like?

I remember seeing one of these in a small guitar store around one time, and considering it was a LOT cheaper than the V-twins, it caught my interest. So heres a few questions:

I understand its a reissue of the Chandler Tube Driver, but how different is this one when compared to the Chandler unit??

What sort of tones can it produce?? Any soundclips, or songs that have this pedal used in it??

Anybody tried it first hand?

I had one in the early 1990's and liked it. It warmed things up nicely and could provide a decent variety of sounds. I can't remember what happened to mine, nor can I remember if mine was the Chandler unit or the Tube Works (their stuff was everywhere at that time, I seem to recall). I remember a lot of people would use a different tube to get less gain...the Tube Driver (there was a Blues Driver as well...lower gain, I think) didn't really give you that just breaking up sort of thing unless you changed the tube to a lower gain tube. That's as far as I remember; I do remember wishing it had less gain.

Sorry to be so vague, but if I could find one, I'd check it out again.

A friend of mine that introduced me to guitar playing and helped me learn a few things used a chandler tube driver into a JCM 800 to achieve some stunning rock tones. It's a classic that you can use in conjunction with the drive of the JCM 800 to produce awesome organic and warm tones. If you have a good amp, you will love it. If not, it will only help the tone a little bit if at all.
