Turning down to 0 with 300k pots with JB in LP std

I am finding that when playing on my own, or with very little backing I need to turn my tone control down as far as 3 or even 0 to get a nice solo sound, is this normal with a JB Bridge in a LP STD?
Using Marshall JCM 600 combo

I don't have experience with the JCM600, but I can certainly imagine a lot of situations where I'd be turning down the tone when soloing on the bridge pickup, JB or otherwise, so I wouldn't automatically suspect that there's anything wrong, per se.

Of course, I'd probably be more likley to just switch to the neck pickup, since that tends to be the LP solo sound that I think of when I thnk of LP solos.
