What do you guys think. I looked into the BK Tube Driver but they're pretty pricey for one. Buying one of the Twin Tube pedals would be like having two tube drivers, right? Which one is good for Gilmour/Pink Floyd songs?
Re: Twin Tube Blue or TT Classic for D. Gilmour sounds
The Tube Driver is a preamp. The thing that makes the Tube Driver so unique is that BK Butler tunes each one by ear, and is now making them again the same way.
Re: Twin Tube Blue or TT Classic for D. Gilmour sounds
The TTC and a Tube Driver sound nothing alike...I know I have a TTC and a 5 knob Tube Driver and have used a 3 and a 4 knob...different for sure. Look around, there was actually a 4 knob Tube Driver on here for sale just a week or so ago for $150 which is a great price. Look hard and get the right gear, you'll be much happier in the end.
Re: Twin Tube Blue or TT Classic for D. Gilmour sounds
When did Gilmour start using drive pedals like the Butler and Rat? I understand the fascination with the Pulse rig published in the Guitar Shop issue (I too was obsessed for a while) but the tones I love of Gilmour's were all Fuzz Face/Uni-Vibe/Echoplex or Muff/Phase90/Electric Mistress. Not to say 80's/90's era tones were bad, but those 60's/70's tones are the ones I fell in love with.

Of the two mentioned, the Twin Tube Blue is more Gilmour to me. We sent him a Classic, and basically some of the comments he made are exactly what the Twin Tube Blue is. So we sent him one of those too.

They've been shipping for a couple months now, so they're out there. But if you're referring to your David Gilmour free one, then you might have to wait a little longer.
