Two ESP Eclipses, choosing Two new PU sets

These are all set neck mahogany guitars with ebony fretboards.

One ESP is going to get the new DiMarzio Satchur8 with a PafPro (or LiquidFire). Figuring I would use that more as my metal and heavier rock stuff.

One I’m wanting to go with Duncan’s. I cannot get the SH-11 CustomCustom out of my head. Although I heard it in a super strat what I have is the Eclipse. Maybe toss in that and a Pearly Gates?

This would be two similar guitars with very different sounds but both usable for rock and heavier tunes. I’d probably go with something like a Distortion or something but that dang CustomCustom is just sticking in my head.

Go with the CC. If you dont dig it try an A5 mag or a Ceramic

For something similar, but that can do both modern sounds and PAF sounds, look at the PATB-3. Its a slightly hotter wind than standard PAF's, but due to it's unique construction it's an extremely versatile pickup. It's plenty warm, so don't worry about that part. Match it with the PATB neck model to keep the looks the same, or go with a more traditional PAF neck pickup of your choosing.

I've been a member here since 2001 or 2002, my memory is a bit fuzzy these days. The PATB line is the most underrated line that SD makes and has been since I can remember, while IMO ranking in the top 10 best pickups SD makes. And I'd rank it higher for those that play heavier rock than 80's stuff. I have a PATB-1 in my only Floyd equipped guitar and I love it there, but it doesn't have to pair only with Floyd's or even Trem's, it works fine with hardtails. The PATB-3 is more in line sound wise with the Custom output wise and tone wise. I want something with slightly less output, so before long I'm going to swap a PATB-3 in there. I have the PATB single coil size loaded in the neck and it is very sweet for a stacked single coil.

Check them out at least, I think you'd be very happy with them..... and unique. That seems to be at least a partial concern of yours. Good luck and let us know what you decide on.
