Uli Jon Roth Sky Guitar

I was on you tube, and ran across the scorpions with Uli Jon Roth... that guy is amazing! What is up with his guitar though? 29 frets, 7 strings 2 quad coil pickups (one under the 24th fret). Can't find anything about them, not that I want to make one, but the construction is very different from what I can find!:eek2:

That is a rare bird indeed. He made that when he was doing his astral whatever it was - to fully realize his stylings potential. It was a one or two off. Donb't think they ever went into production....but maybe a for a small bit?

Uli Jon Roth is awesome!!!!! I`ve been a big fan of his since his days with the Scorpions in the 70`s! That guitar is really funky,i wish he would just grab a Fender Strat again!!

Re: Uli Jon Roth Sky Guitar

That is a crazy guitar.... I can't believe no one else has tried to make something like it... maybe not the looks, but the frets or the hidden pickup. Kinda frustrates me, only because the only thing you really see are copies of classics... or hot rodded classics or just plain out wierd pointy stuff! No one really wants to make anything different like that guitar!

Re: Uli Jon Roth Sky Guitar

In the '32 frets' video it looked like there were frets on the neck pickup. If so was the top of the pickup made of wood? Either way that was an interesting video.

Seen a few partial 27 fret guitars and Hamer made that one with 36 or so didn't they?
