Ultimate Marshall in a box Carl Martin Plexitone vs Rockett Animal

Sooo as I have both pedals in my possession, I thought I'd do a shootout that I wanted to see myself before I purchased Animal.
They both aim for a "Marshall in a box" style, but they do so in a very different way. I like Plexitone slightly more. But I do really like Animal doing its lower gain stuff. Also the mid emphasis is nice on the Animal. It really shines when it's boosting another distortion pedal or an amp channel.
Let me know which one you prefer!

Boss Power Stack is pretty good.

There are so many pedals that do this, and so many Marshalls. Can't really lose and I don't think there is any "best"

What about the big CM PlexiTone?



I have a custom clone of this pedal and it is AMAZING! It has two channels so you get everything from angry plexi to hot rodded JCM800! And you get a 20db boost!

Well I don't know - they are both great pedals.
I think the Animal is more like and old Marshall with the low mid roar, and the Plexi is more modern sounding being brighter and having more gain.
But I only have Fender and Laney amps so take my opinion with a grain of salt

Sounds killer to me. Built in TS like boost, built in bass boost... what more do you want?
