i'd watch that show every week if it was in english and had more descriptive voice over of each step
thats crazy cool work to add the scarf joint so meticulously ... then the peghead face veneer transplant ... never saw a guy use a pocket knife to whittle a head stock either

I didn't make a video, but did essentially the same thing on a Gibson a few months back.
I didn't use a knife to do the carving though. I prefer a chisel.

Well, musical instruments cost a lot in Brazil, so there's no other option than send'em to the experienced Luthier like this guy seems to be when something bad happens.
A job like this one would cost more than the guitar itself, being an Epi, so you wouldn't even think about get it repaired. You just look for another one in E-bay, right?
But if the guitar IS a legit Gibson Les Paul, the music changes 180°, as the market value of the instrument is high.
I may be an idiot, but even if the price is the same, I'll always choose to give my money to an actual human being to get it fixed rather than getting a new(used) one.
Congrats to the guy for a job well done and thanks to Evan to share this with us.

I've seen several videos about this guy. Like watching him build a bass with nothing but a hand saw, chisel, file, and hammer (think I'm joking). The man is a woodworker and an artist, who just happens to be good with guitars,

Not freehand - there's a guide fence. Bandsaws, when properly set up, are pretty precise things.
There's also a lot of steps not shown - the guy is clearly very skilled, but he's hiding some very important parts of the process and just showing the rock 'n roll bits.

Considering the amounts of trees that have been cut for guitars, the amount cut daily, as we speak, the material spent on every component of each guitar and their resulting carbon emissions....I +1 that.
Yeah yeah yeah bring on the flame about how I'm not chaining myself to the trees etc etc...at least I do the small things haha!
