Ultimate Stratocaster bridge set-up

Stratman

Guitaris Maximus
OK - So I purchased KGC’s Brass tremolo block to see just how good it really is… And it does add some sustain and does mellow out the high treble tone.

So, I tried it with a number of different components and have come up with the following combination that sounds to me, BEST!

1) Killer Guitar Components - Import/MIM Strat® Style Brass Tremolo Block

2) Killer Guitar Components - Killer Brass Claw

3) Raw Vintage - Tremolo Springs (Using only Three (3) Springs)

4) Babicz Guitar - FCH eCAM
http://www.fullcontacthardware.com/strat-tremolo.htm (Purchased at http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/full-contact-hardware-stratocaster-saddle-kit )

5) BladeRunner

I tried these components in various different configurations using parts from Fender, Callaham, Boogie Rails, Gotoh, and Stew-Mac.

I ran the different configurations to determine if KGC’s claims were true or just marketing hype and I have reversed my opinion and can state that KGC blocks do indeed work.

PS: I also tried a Resonari tremolo block against the KGC product. Really close in tone!

Re: Ultimate Stratocaster bridge set-up

I've been intrigued with the Blade Runner - a little worried about the flat spring. There's been some slagging on other boards but take that with a grain of salt. Its certainly an different solution to the pivot problem. The Babicz saddles also a neat idea.

I have two of these installed on different strats and have no problems at all.

The only ‘slagging’ that I found in from someone who posted 4 post about it, and then his last post was he is going back to Gibson. So that must be a very large grain of salt.

There are a number of questions concerning the Blade Runner from people who have not tried it yet.

And one from another who complained that his guitar kept going out-of-tune, until he found out that the actual problem was with string trees and not his bridge.

I would be interested to see some of those post that you found - so post them!
