Ultra Crusty Industrial. Incrustial!

El Dunco

Sock Supplier to RHCP
A friend of mine wrote and arranged a song for an Industrial band that he wants me to be in, we threw together a song yesterday. He wrote the lyrics, arranged it and all the performances are by his design. I came up with the riffs for the parts and perfomed all the instruments and vocals.

I haven't recorded anything like this before but I was impressed when I played it back the next day!

He got some guy to make a video for it, I thought it suited really well. Don't ask me what movie it's from because I have no idea.

Thanks! I've never been complimented in italics before. That must be a good sign.

We're recording 2 more songs for a 3 track release, I'll post them as they come!

Re: Ultra Crusty Industrial. Incrustial!

The day after tomorrow is the movie, I think.

Guitar tone sounds a lot like Jesus Built my Hotrod era Ministry.

I wouldn't call it crusty, not loose or crazy enough (you do know there's a whole subgenre of punk/hardcore called crust, right?). Cool stuff though, that's not a criticism.

I know, I was mainly talking about the tone/sound than the style. I used it as an adjective because the guitars and distorted drum loops together remind me of when you take a bite out of a really stiff pizza crust. Or toast. I had some squealies ala Godflesh but Cedric didn't want them, he didn't want anything fancy in the guitars. He described it as wanting it to be like a keyboard or another synth rather than a traditional lead guitar.

Yeah I tried a few different styles and Ced really wanted the unpitched, semi-spoken almost seductive robotic sound :)
