cuz it sure seems that way, asking for a friend >

I've got a Les Paul tribute that's a great guitar! It's got the ultra modern weight relief that gives it almost a semi hollow sound, definitely sounds different than a standard. I prefer the satin finish also. It's just a modern Les Paul with a satin finish and a gigbag.

I know you're just trolling us, but I really like my Tribute.

I like the satin finished no frilly plastic crap everywhere look as well in a Les Paul. Less plastic and more wood is a win in my book.

my tribute is a great guitar, my LPJ is a great guitar.
the day I bought the tribute, I tested and played dozens of Les Pauls at nearly every guitar store in PHX... It was the best sounding guitar that I played.

I'm not really a Gibson fanboi, but I am very happy with the way the tributes look, play, and most importantly, sound.

I'm a BFG fan also. . . And that's as raw as they come. It's not even "finished" that MF flat out rips!

(Also note there is a sh6/tb6 in all of my LPs)

I have one. It plays great from the plek'ing and sounds fantastic. Honestly, best-sounding guitar I've ever had.

However... it does look very rustic, which I guess is an euphemism for cheap, LOL. It does come with great hardware (aluminum bridge and tailpiece and Grover Kluson-type tuners), though, and "good" pickups which unfortunately, not many people, me included, like.

It's one of the cheapest Gibsons. Not sure if they still sell those flat-top specials. But if not, it's the cheapest Les Paul. But I've also got the most expensive Epi LP (the 1959). That one looks way nicer, but it comes with horrible hardware. Even after upgrading the hardware, though, it doesn't hold a candle tone-wise compared to the Gibson.
