Unfinished/Stripped Body

In the pic below, is it possible to tell whether this body is actually sanded & unsealed? Or what would be the evidence that there is some sort of finish on the body? I've so far heard two opinions:

-Body had finish removed with paint stripper, meaning there is still enough finish penetration that the body is protected
-Body was sanded down to bare wood, and it appears there is only stain on top, so the body is unprotected

I didn't even know there was a difference between sanding & stripping as far as finish removal but so I've been told. Are either of those the case? Thinking I might need to find a local pro to give an opinion, but know we have some knowledgeable people here.

It looks like it has a dark grain filler still filling the pores. I can't tell if its bare wood or if it has a sealer on it. With the filler intact it would be no problem to shoot a coat or two of Deft gloss on it if it is bare wood, though.
