Unique wiring diagram

A little help would be appreciated on this wiring diagram I modified and photoshopped from various schematics.
My goal is use an On/Off/On 3 way toggle to switch between pups and have the middle position kill.
The push pull taper volume would control the volume of the selected pup.
When the pot is in the up position, the selected pup is then split to the inner coil.

Am I missing something here, or will this possibly work?

Don't want to start heating the iron before I know it will work.

Thanks in advance

Re: Unique wiring diagram

Indeed, a unique wiring diagram.

You have drawn the output wire from the Switchcraft-type selector switch as being connected to ground on the chassis of the pot. You have drawn the wire from the grounding lug of the selector switch as being connected to the input terminal of the pot. This arrangement will produce no signal.

I would be interested to see photographs of the selector switch that you are using.

Re: Unique wiring diagram

When you switch from bridge to neck or vice versa there will be a "break" in the signal due to the kill switch. You'd have to flip awful fast between p/u's in order to hide the cut in signal. I don't think it's a good idea. Back to the drawing board!

Good point on the signal breaking!

Re: Unique wiring diagram

Ahh, Yes the ground and the hot would need to be flipped at the 3 way switch. Thanks for catching that one. I don't have any particular 3 way on-off-on switch in mind. I am just curious if the schematic as a whole would produce the desired switching possibilities.
Thanks again for your input.

Re: Unique wiring diagram

Actually, "signal path breaking" is precisely how the Switchcraft-type three-way toggle selector switch operates. In crude terms, the toggle deselects whichever pickup you do not want to use. The bottom end of the toggle physically parts the two sprung leaves that make up the contact.

The standard Switchcraft-type switch is not available as an on/off/on. Obviously, it could be dismantled then reassembled to operate differently.

Indeed, a unique wiring diagram...

Methinks it's just laid out like a old switchcraft toggle where the output was on the opposite end. The two leaves folded together is the normally the output and the large lug in the center is normally the ground so this is correct if confusing.

I am just curious if the schematic as a whole would produce the desired switching possibilities.

It won't. Assuming you get the output of the switch wired to the volume pot it'll just switch like a normal three-way pickup selector.

I'm pretty sure the Gibson branded switch (PSTS-020) I put in my LP is wired like he shows there. <----Confirmed

Re: Unique wiring diagram

Thanks for all this input. The 3-way switch was just a cut and paste from seymour's schematic diagrams. I'm looking/shopping for a solid-built on/off/on toggle to switch pups. Ideally, the push pull pot would be in full humbucking at the push position and coil split at the pull position. The 3-way switch would ideally be able to switch neck or bridge pups or inner coils depending the pot's push/pull position.
