Univibe Won't Switch to Chorus Mode

I have a Dunlop Univibe that's in pristine cosmetic condition and sounds just like I expect it to sound when in vibrato mode. However, when I click it into chorus mode I just get the straight guitar sound -- as if the pedal were being bypassed. Any idea what might be causing that? Any thoughts on how a novice tinkerer such as myself could fix it?

first off, open up the inside and gently probe around looking for something obvious.. check the pots, connections to and from the circuit board, anything that looks out of the ordinary.

chances are, if you find a wire loose inside the chassis, and a terminal with nothing connected to it on the board, you've got a relatively easy fix
