I have a recently acquired PRS SE245 ( 2011 maple top )and although I like the sound from it would be interested in which pickup upgrades people have made to their se245s. Also, I am thinking of getting the PRS SE Zach Myers ( 2017 model at the end of the year ) and am also interested in which pickups people have put in this model too.
I play mostly classic rock but also have a leaning towards blues and jazz-rock fusion.
What I am considering is a P-Rails in the neck and a 59 or JB in the bridge, both with tap and s/p or phase reversal.

I have been trying several sets in my PRS SE245. The Seth Set sounds great. I didn't like the Whole Lotta set in the PRS as much as I do in my Les Paul. The Whole Lotta neck was Kinda Muddy. Gibson 57 Classics and Burstbucker 1&2 sound good in it. I even like the Gibson 490t/490r in it. I REALLY like the Dimarzio Air Zone in the bridge, but I'm having trouble finding a neck to match. The Full shred neck kinda works with it, but the FSN has its own "thing" going on that is not a perfect match. The Humbucker from Hell matches it really well tone-wise, but I always find myself wanting a little more power out of it. The PAF Pro and PAF Joe were a little too muddy in the neck. The PRS SE245 really smooths out any pickup you put in it, so pickups that have a little grit to them balance well in it where they might sound harsh in other guitars.
