I'm new to these forums.
I just wanted to pick your brains about the best pickups for an Ibanez RG1570 and a EXR470!
Basically I like to play metal and Satriani stuff. I like Metallica black album sound, and satriani's sound. I also like Hendrix. My amp is a Marshall JVM410c, I have a digitech RP1000 that I use for delays, mod, reverbs and wah. Use amp for gain.
What would be best in a RG1570? Its basswood, rosewood fingerboard and has a FR. The V8 and V7 p/u are very weak...hard to get harmonics and a bit lifeless overall. I am left dissappointed when comparing it to my Schecter Hellraiser.
I also just bid and won a cheapish Ergodyne Ibanez 470EXR on eBay...was 120....the it has passive EMG designed neck and middle pickup and there is an Invader in the bridge but it sounds very noisey and muddy....not sure its been wired in right as picks up noise from PC etc...I only just got it sent yesterday.
Any help would be great!
