Oh I thought that's what he was saying, I thought he lost all sound. I get it now, probably just a tube.

Re: Urgent Blue's Junior Question

Oddly enough, my BJ's sound went out, but with the guitar plugged in and the gain up it still hums like it should. Playing with the angling of the the cable produces the occasional pop, and pulling the cable and tapping the end produces no pft sound like normal.

In my case at least I think it's the cable.

Re: Urgent Blue's Junior Question

I've heard that, too.

I can confirm.

I bought one from a local rehearsal studio where the tech would take the stock ones and break the direct leads to the board and would re-connect with wires.

His logic was that eventually he would need to perform the operation now so it makes sense to get it over with.

loss of volume is almost definitely tubes!!!

Re: Urgent Blue's Junior Question

Exact same thing happened to me a few months after buying my Blues Jr. It was a bad tube, but I can't remember which one. The power tubes are biased very hot in this amp which leads to relatively short life... I think it was one of the EL-84s but am not sure.

A search for "Blues Jr. tubes" should turn up lots of posts here.

don't worry about which tube went out though...just by a whole new matching set from somebody like eurotubes or something!
