I have the chance to buy from a friend of mine, a Pristine, Mint condition, 2006 USA made, 60th Anniversary Commemorative Fender Stratocaster for the low price of $800.00. This is the model that has the Cubic Zirconia in the headstock and has the 1957/58 pickups, along with the 2 tone sunburst finish, along with the 60th anniversary Silver Case. He bought this guitar back in 2006 purely for collector purposes only, but he recently lost a leg to diabetes and is now forced to sell some of his equipment in order to help pay for some of his hospital bills. He still has plenty of other guitars that he's keeping but he knows that I'm a hardcore Fender fanatic and offered me this model. I would like to know if anyone out here has ever played one of these and if so, how is the tone on these guitars.

IMO it's just a typical American Strat with the added features of the CZ in the headstock, custom neck plate and different pickups. Still a nice guitar, but I wouldn't pay more than what other used american standard strats are going for

$800 is a very fair price, considering how much the prices on American Stds and Deluxes have gone up recently.

The fact that it's an Anniversary year, and the original owner kept it flawless is a big plus.
I like buying stuff like that because you can always cash out of it at any time and never lose a penny.
