Godin SD - SOLD
Well, the title is only partially true. Godins are assembled in the U.S. from Canadian made parts. So technically, it's a North American made guitar.
But I digress. Up for sale is a used, but in near mint condition (2007) Godin SD. The guitar does not appear to have even one scratch or ding on it. Aside from the previous users attempts to sand away the Godin imprint on the pickup covers, the guitar is in new condition. But then again, you can change the pickup covers for a few bucks. But that says something good about the pickups, doesn't it? They are good enough to keep and that apparently the Godin label does not do them justice. Anyway, from what I've heard, they're just Seymour Duncans rebranded as Godin, but I'm not positive on that.
What I do know, though, is that the guitar does indeed sound fantastic. For a guitar that is almost entirely maple (neck and body), the guitar is not at all bright like you might expect. In fact, it has a very balanced (but very fat) tone all the way around. If I were to keep this guitar, I wouldn't change a thing. Unfortunately, the car needs fixing, and I need money.
One other thing: The neck on this guitar is to die for. It has a similar contour to the Fender modern C. It is LIGHT YEARS better than those on the MIM Fenders and somewhere close to MIA Fenders. The fit and finish is just fantastic, and the neck plays like butter.
Also, about the mini-switch. I didn't install the mini-switch; the previous owner did (or someone for him). It allows for a bridge/neck combo (up when in the bridge or neck position) as well as all three pickups (up when in any other position). When it's down, it's like it's not there.
Anyway, these are incredible guitars, and not just "for the money." These really do exude Made in USA quality. They are WAY better feeling, sounding, looking, and playing guitars than your typical Fender MIM Strat, but for way less. I'd put the quality somewhere between a MIM Fender and a MIA Fender. But then again, you're also looking at an entirely different beast here, so a direct comparison is a little difficult.
But c'mon. This is a no brainer. A North American made guitar for less than some cheapie Asian import.
I'll let the reviews do the talking:

Also check out Godins site for full details:

The guitar will ship with a cheap gigbag. There's only a little padding for the guitar, but it'll work.
I take Paypal and USPS Money Orders.
PM for more info or if you happen to be interested.
