Using a guitar rifle case as a guitar case?

The gig bag of my Hohner Steinberger copy looked like a rifle bag. Didn’t do great in airports.

At first I thought that the op was serious and I was going to make comments similar to some already posted.
But then I realized that there's no way anyone could make such a post with a "right mind" and saw that it could only be a joke.
(Wait, am I wrong about that?)

Oh no, I'm serious about it. To put it in artsy terms, to the average uninformed person it looks like a guitar in a guitar case, but to the rare few that recognize it is actually a gun cases, it would undermine their expectations to find it actually contained a guitar.

It would be like hollowing out a book only to store a smaller version of that book.

So you're saying that it's really clever to have a guitar case that looks like a guitar case but is designed to hold a rifle, and you could do a lot of work on the inside of it to actually make it hold a guitar, and that would trick those few people who know that it was designed to hold a rifle? So you'd end up with a guitar case that holds a guitar?!

WOW!!! That really is clever! Why didn't I think of that!

("Too Much Time on My Hands" doesn't even begin to tell the story!)

Good cases, but they are HEAVY! Nearly 4x the weight of my guitars.

You need the wheels just to move around the empty case.

Yah, I never carry it; I roll it. Way too long for a guitar, as well.
Would've bought the short rifle version but Harb Freight doesn't sell them.

The way these cases work, they come with a foam pad that you have to cut your self, so it would require no more work to put a guitar in it than it would to use it for its intended purpose. Also it's a lot more secure than a guitar case.

But the added weight is a good point I hadn't considered.
