using a resistor with 500K pot - what will effect be?

Hey all. So I have been pondering how I might be able to have single coils/noiseless single coils in the neck and middle, but have a black winter in the bridge of a strat. I know - kind of crazy tonal variance there, but humor me. I have this schematic attached below. My goal with this is to use just one 500K volume, but let the single coils see less than 500K. I had never thought of this, but the person who suggested this said that incorporating a 470K resistor for the neck and middle will effectively let those pickups 'see' 242K. So by doing this, would I be maintaining the strattiness of area pickups? Does the resistor do anything funny or color the tone? Maybe a dumb question. This schematic really seems to accomplish what I'm after - I just have no electrical/engineering experience - curious what you guys think.

It's not a dumb idea. It doesn't mess with the taper of the pot much. A switch from audio to a log pot or a different value pot is more noticeable than adding a resistor in parallel with a pot. I have been incorporating into more of my wiring lately in order to brighten neck positions while darkening and smoothing out bridge positions or to match pickup impedance with pot impedance.

Sweet thanks for the knowhow. might have to go this route - sounds very promising
