Value of a modded CIJ Jazzmaster

I have a CIJ cherry red Jazzmaster in excellent condition. I added a Mastery bridge and replaced both pickups with SD Antiquities. I also have the original bridge and pickups and whammy arm. Does anyone know what kind of asking price it could get?

Re: Value of a modded CIJ Jazzmaster

Put the original pickups and bridge back on. You won't get any added valule from the expensive aftermarket parts ( although it could induce someone to buy it if they can get it for a steal) . Craigslist is a dead zone now unless you sell dirt cheap. Ebay, ? Dunno, check completed listings. Ive seen good guitars go for not much money when listed on a quick bidding auction with no reserve ..things are slow now , and IMO, you won't get what it's worth probably unless you put it on a Buy it now/best offer auction and sit on it for awhile. If you list it on a short term 10 day auction with bidding , put a reserve or you might end up getting shorted.

I'd offer the Mastery bridge as a potential upgrade, at maybe 60%-70% of new value. Most will want it and it'll get it off your hands. You'll get way more for antiquities separate.

Make a post here when you list it. ;)

reverb.com!

Best place to sell gear online IMO

And like MetalManiac said, put all the original parts back in. Nice upgrades don't really make them sell for much more, so you'd be essentially giving away those nice parts for free.

$700 in my opinion is a fair/easy sale for that guitar (stock,) although people will ask up to $1000 nowadays and some go closer to that price. Mods won't add value; as stated the upgrades don't increase value (example: I'd love the Duncan's vs. stock pickups, but would immediately pull/sell the Mastery stuff as it's not to my taste.) Most people prefer a guitar that hasn't been messed with (or doesn't look like it.)

Good luck, you mentioning it tempts me.

Look up what stock JAPANESE jazzmasters go for (the Fender Japan thing is the main source of resale value)
+50-100 over stock for Duncans
+150 if you find someone with a hardon for Antiquities

+0 for bridge, might as well put the original back on and ebay the Mastery.

Perhaps try craigslisting pickups separately, just put stock back in if you get a bite

Disagree, SOME popular upgrades on Japan guitars add resale cuz theyre quality workhorses.

Examples: OFR swap, EMGs, popular Duncan sets, or DiMarzio Liquifire&Whatsitsname on a basic MIJ bumps value significantly.

Its on ultracheapies and collectibles that mods dont do much.
