my ad50vt is coming in the mail tomorrow. this is only my second amp so im not really good at getting good tones from something that has more than 4 knobs. could any vox owners or anyone that has played them post some settings? i need a metallica like/ heavy metal tone, a van halen tone, a boston tone. i also need a good blues setting. any advice on tweaking with this amp would be great. thanks

read your manual and just tweek the knobs... that is the only way you are going to get when you are looking for. what ever someone else comes up with might not sound close to what you want because of the pickups, guitar, effects ect they are using.
but for your settings i would try scooping the mids for a metallica sounds,
lots of mids and treble with medium gain for van halen also try a phaser,
boston lots of mids and treble maybe a light chorus on top too. light-medium gain.
the best thing to do it just read your manual and plug in and play!

It's a fun amp. I'm sure you'll be surprised how many guitar tones there really are, once you start fiddling with it. The key to that amp is learning how to use the 3 overdrive models to fine tune the character of each amp model. On high gain settings, make sure you read the manual about how to bring in the noisegate.

Go to www.patchtronix.com for info on Valvtronix amps. Lots of suggested pre-sets.
But also as suggested, read the manual. It has info on the original amps and a bit on how to tweak for best results. Have fun.
