Vapor Trail FX Loop - wet-out or compunding ?

Hi guys !!!
I've just a question about vapor trail fx loop.
I'd love to put other fx on the repeats of the delay, but how does'it works?
Some delay with fx loop goes through the external effect on each repeat, and then, if I put an octave up effect in the loop, playing a C1, I will get C2 on first repat, C3 on sencond, C4 on third...
Other delay apply external fx at the wet-out, in this way, eith an octave up effect in the loop I will get a shiimer-like effect, playing C1 all the repeats are C2.
I prefer the second way, with effect on wet-out only
How vapor trail's fx loop works ?

Thanx !!!

Marcello

Im guessing the effect in the trs loop will see the first delay 'trail' as the original signal. Are there any other delay pedals out there that have a loop for wet signal like this?

From the demos I've watched it sounds like your second scenario, I.e. FX applied after the delays.

You can here the wet insert in action in the video below, you variously hear a crybaby in the loop, followed by a volume pedal (to control the 'mix' of the wet signal) and finally a shapeshifter trem . You should notice the 'dry' signal is unaffected by the pedals that are inserted in the loop

Re: Vapor Trail FX Loop - wet-out or compunding ?

The Wet Insert loop on Vapor Trail is not being fed back through the delay line, so any effect applied to the wet signal will not be additive with each new repeat - The signal chain goes like this:

Vapor Trail IN > Delay Line > Wet Loop > Output.

I could see it being cool - especially with pitch effects, but I could also see it getting out of hand and becoming unusable, say with chorus/vibrato...

Welcome to the forum!

I wrote a blog about using the insert jack. Maybe there is some info there that might help.
