Hard on the board, soft on the pedal. I don't remove or move pedals around much. I have different size boards for different types of gigs, but with equivalent capabilities and leave them set up. There's rare occasion where I add something, like a volume or wah, or a special effect that is only used on one song for a particular gig set list.
