click on slither..just my EBMM axis through my line 6..mic'ed up with an sm58 (all we have..not even the right kinda mic..can't wait to get a 57 on there) right into the board..

I'm doin' the rythm, the volume swells...and all things palm muted..the other guitar player did the lead..cause he did it with his old band and it was comfy for him..

sound like a modeling amp to anyone? =)

why a 58 the wrong kind of mic? theres no rule, a 58 can be used just as well as a 57. i couldent get the link to work :(

It seems Soundclick is down pretty often...

Se on suomin poikat, iso bassi?? :laugh2:

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

thanks guys =)

it's not that a 58 is the 'wrong' mic...just that I'd prefer a 57 =)

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

yeah, soundclick's a little buggy....keep tryin' though, dammit! lol

Fanatastic stuff. Singer's great, the guitars sound full and crunchy. The lead guitar needs a wah boost :D.

The drummer's got some chops.

More please :D

thanks, man! it's funny..the singer (a friend of mine for 25 years or so now) thinks he sounds like **** on it..hahah...

the drummer's a human friggin' metronome...he NEVER drops a beat...it's crazy...

this was the first night we all practiced this soon too...and it probably sounds better than most of the stuff we've played for the past month..lol..go figure..haha..

thanks again for the kind words! appreciate it =)

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

No Worries.

I am a bit jealous:D. You must know how hard it is to find a drummer who can hit em' hard and also play with a musical, driving feel.

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

I am truly 100% impressed!!! Excellent. I could tell it was a modeling amp ... only after you mentioned it. :D

I think I might like your singer's voice better than Weiland's...

not to mention one you can get along with..lol..

ya know, it's funny..this whole band fell into my lap really...the other guitar player works with me..he was in another cover band..wasn't happy so he quit..he knew I played..so he asked me if I wanted to start something..I was a little wary at first..didn't know if I could cut it or not...but me and him got together..and he liked my playing alot...so I told him I'm friend with a dude who sings...so the three of us and a bass player the other guy knows all got together..started goin' over some songs..then the bassplayer knew this drummer..so inside of a week we got together, talked about the band and jammed a bit and viola...a band was born..only took me 14 years....lol...something always came up before but this came together without a hitch...life's funny that way sometimes...

lol...yeah, I was even considering gettin' rid of the thing...I mean, I love it and all but I was havin' a problem gettin' a good loud, live sound out of it that didn't sound fake...it's easy to program the thing..just so many options that sometimes it's hard to get tHE sound...but I found out that whatever sound you want is there..if you're willing to fine tune the thing...

the singer thinks he sounds like **** on that cut..lol...always our own worst critics Is uppose...it was only the first night we practiced it together as a band..so I think it's pretty good considering =)

thanks for the kind words, man..appreciate it!

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

That's a pretty spot on cover there mang. Your singer's got a great voice, and the guitars are kickin it!

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

That sounds great man :headbang:

I agree with the comment on the solo being a little low in the mix.

Nice tones too

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

thanks Metalman and Nuntius...we'll iron out all the levels when we go to do a demo =)

Re: Velvet Revolver cover from practice tonight

Absolutely awesome... and Slither happens to be one of my favorite on the VR album. A lot of bands think they're good but they're not. You are great!

thanks dude...really appreciate the kind words! I think we're gonna have a blast..really good bunch of guys with similar goals and that really helps..definetly can't wait to get out and play..but I don't wanna rush it either, ya know? I actually think that I might be the least proficient at my instrument than some of the other guys in the band..lol...but that's ok by me...as long as we sound good ;)
