i totally undestand the time issue. half of it is saving money, the other half is giving gc as little of it as possible. i used to work guerrilla retail and always took great care of my customers and gave them great deals. i expect the same from my guys, but in return they get my business exclusively.


i used the pedal infront of a modded musicmaster bass amp, a 12w 1x12 6v6 combo, with the guitar plugged into the reverb into a sd pup booster then into the amp. i had first put the booster before the reverb but when the boost was on there was LOADS more reverb so i switched it. it sounded great either way

I was wondering where it would fit best in the signal chain. I'm thinking of placing it just after the Wah and before everything else (when I get it).

I normally put things like reverb,chorus,delay,and flange last in the chain...It works best for me there always!

I can relate Jeremy! I used to work at Thoroughbred Music..Here they are all Sam Ash Music now. I just do whatever is faster and easier,as it's all about me when I want something! :laugh2:

WD7 Wah--> SFX03--> Phase 90--> DD6--> Dynacomp--> Volume

Where would you put the reverb?

I'd have the wah first.....Dynacomp.....phase 90...DD6....Reverb...If the volume pedal is high impedence,I'd have it first in the chain....If it's low impedence,I'd have it after the reverb....I use both styles of volume pedals...

You can experiment with the last 3 time based pedals and see what gives you the least amount of hum,buzz,and tone coloring...I don't use a compressor,but when I did I had it early in the chain.Maybe someone else will chime in about that? My wah is always first right after my guitar..

I normally think in these lines with my pedals....Wah....Compressor....Overdrive/Distortions.....Time based effects...But everyone has their own ways of hooking up stuff.:13:

Wah -> Compressor -> Phaser -> SFX-03 -> DD6 -> Reverb

Not sure about the volume pedal. I'd experiment with the phaser before and after the SFX-03. Sometimes it sounds better before distortion, sometimes after.

My Verbzilla was here when I got home last night and I've been playing with it in the FX loop of my Jubilee today. It sounds great! There's a lot in there - loads of stuff to tweak and experiment with! I'm intending to use it for some dramatic Peter Green style effects, and so far I'm finding the Plate and Hall models are getting me into the right zone. The Octo effect is cool - not sure what use I'll make of that though! Anyway, it's sounding great, very convincing models, not hard and digital, and there's plenty to adjust. All in all I think it's excellent.

Regarding the echo setting, it sounds really good, but the max delay time is quite short - maybe 150ms (I'm hopeless at guessing these things). It works great for rockabilly slapback though!

Cool.....I'll have mine Monday according to the UPS tracking....So just a slap back delay huh? I usually need around the 400 to 500 range on my delay or less? I do need a good reverb pedal though and I can run it with the dealy still..

IMO I would go:

wah--SFX03 (now, from here you could go 2 directions. Either go on to modulation effects, etc., OR, if you have an FX loop built into your amp you'd be much better using that and keep your line noise down to a bare minimum away from your boost and distortion. SO, if going through the loop in your amp: DD6--Phase 90--reverb) --Dynacomp--Phase90--DD6--reverb--Volume

One channel amp, no FX loop.

I rarely use phaser AND distortion. I tend to use the phaser to enhance "clean" sounds...generally speaking, of course.
