Very cool impulse pedal buy.

I found myself in Guitar center yesterday, and this thing caught my eye for some strange reason. I'm glad it did.

It's the Malekko Ekko 616.

It's funny, the only gripe I have about the pedal is that it claims to be an analog delay, but if you set the regen to any thing above 3 o'clock it never stops. It just keeps going and going. I don't remember any analog delays being able to do that.

Over all, this is probably the coolest delay I've ever had. It can go from a spring reverb to a neverending ocean of sound.
It also has a wild modulation with pretty good tweakability. The modulation will bend the note in the delay up or down depending on T/B switch setting.
It makes for some very interesting sounds, I'm just not sure if I can use all of it in a practical way. But, it is a blast to noodle around with.

Anyways, I just thought I'd share a little bit info. I'm sure most of you guys have seen or heard this pedal before, but I'm giving it a big thumbs up. It's a keeper.

Cool! It's a blast to stumble onto something you really like. You say the regeneration keeps going and going ... does it run away with the volume ever increasing (self oscillation)? In my experience that would be very typical for an analog delay.

Re: Very cool impulse pedal buy.

If you turn the mix up past noon, it does. It gets louder and louder until you hit enough notes for it to turn into a fuzzy feedback. It probably is common, I just don't think I've ever pushed one into that range before.

Re: Very cool impulse pedal buy.

The feedback of an analog delay is one of the reasons folks buy them.

Myself, I think it's a neat trick but hard to use in a live setting!

That said, cool delay! The Malekko stuff is nice and well made.

What GC were you at???

Re: Very cool impulse pedal buy.

I had to go see a very sick uncle at Emory yesterday. That GC is only 5 miles or so from Emory, so I made a pit stop on the way home. I'm about 2.5 hours away in Augusta.

That's what I though...Augusta that it is.

Sorry to hear you were in the city for that reason.
