Very Rough Song

Ok so this is a song i wrote a while back and cant write words for it so i made a crappy recording so a friend can write some for me. Anyway i know the tone sucks, and the timing is off, and the playing is really sloppy. I have my Samick Torino Demon/59 through my Roland Disk Lab, run out the headphone out to the line in of my computer, into Guitar Rig 3, then to Cubase. The clean is an AC30 into a 4x12 in stereo with a Tweed Bassman on Clean. The drive channel is an Uberschall in stereo with a Tweed Bassman on clean with a tubescreamer in front of it. So give me ur opinions on the structure and whatnot, and the phrasing. I really like the vibe of this song but i feel like i can do somehting better. so here it is.

You don't need no stinkin' vocals.

I'm kinda digging the vibe that you have going on there. The guitar parts I think are interesting enough to stand on their own and be the main tracks without vocals almost in a Marty Friedman instrumental kinda way. It flows really well and builds up nicely already. I'd just play around with adding a few well-placed leads, a simple melody line that compliments what's already there, and layer in some other instruments. Dare I say even some MIDI strings or something to enhance the chunka chunka parts.

And it's way too long. It comes to a nice conclusion right around the 3:00 mark. I'd leave it at that.

lol 3 days and my first response. I was listening to quite a bit of tool when i wrote this, and the length is somthing i kinda dig, IMHO its one of those songs that doesnt get boring while listeing to it, and for some reason the ending makes me want to listen to it again.

thanks man! i will try and work somthing out. unfortunatly i have not played lead in about 5 years lol. I got really into singing around then and became a rythm guitarest. i think ill add some melodies though, that i can do. perhaps melding those ideas with my plan for having my friend do the lyrics will turn out an awesome tune. :naughty:
there is the section that will have a solo, where i kinda start to gallop on the lower strings. thanks for the comments!:friday:
