With my Epi Firebird project nearing completion with PGs and Jimmy Page wiring, I wondering if I should install a Vibrola tail on it. The stoptail was replaced with a Gibson TP6 just like I did with my LP but I'm thinking of going old school to help channel my inner Johnny Winter (just learned that he's going to play a three week gig at BB King's in NY this month…will they wheel him out to his chair and make him sit there for the entire three week?). I'm less concerned about drilling holes in the top than the impact the additional string length has on the Firebird. Also thought about a Bigsby tail using the adapter. Looking for experiences and opinions to help with the decision.
