Hey guys,

Recorded this yesterday.

The strat has a callaham bridge, and Alnico 2 antiquities in the neck and middle.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post 16:9 format to youtube. It either crops it to 4:3 or degrades the video quality too much. I've been doing .wms so far.

I can't speak to the aspect ratio of your video post, but I will say I love your tone, and your playing in general.

Your playing is fantastic. Tone is great too. The only thing I'd change is turn down the delay repeats. They're distracting. A subtle delay would be really nice.

Yeah about the delays - i gotta admit: I'm a sucker for delays :) It's my quirk. On the next track i'm just gonna pick out a nice 'verb, and see how that feels for a change.

This song is very special to me because it was the one that hit me on the head when i heard it for the first time 7 years ago. The other song like that is Little Wing (SRV version) - i wanna do that next. Got it pretty close down 'bout now, but 3 fast runs need to be polished. I wanna do that one as close note for note as possible.

ok I like the cover song there, nice, and in good time with the metronome

common prob I see with most guitarists is playing improv and only staying in 1 position - the 1st (ie hand hovers around the scale starting on the 12th fret and the octave below on the open low E)

sounds good, next step is using other patterns. so that your fret hand dances all over the fretboard instread of just on those 2 areas only to venture a few more notes on the high E for the 15th fret

also consider changing the key you solo in, consider changing the type of scale you solo with

again, nice blues soloing, keep it up :)

Pretty sweet there! The delay sounded a little out of sync with the rhythm? Maybe not? Anyhow really nice tone and chops.

Awesome tone man, im about to install my antiquities in my strat and i have been thinking about geting a callaham upgrade... this just makes me wnat to try it more. Nice playing there too man, sounds perfect.

Thanks a lot dude. However this was not improvised :) It is note-for-note the Stevie Ray version of Lenny (studio version). I wanted to copy it note for note on purpose to pay homeage to my guitar hero!!

I do know all the pentatonic patterns, don't worry :)

Great job. Had a chance to seem him a few years before his death in '90, in a very private setting. Great tune, PHENOMINAL guitarist.
Still miss him. Thanks.
