Hey guys,
here is my honest attempt at the tune:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wHonOUBdqY
This tune is probably the #1 tune to me - in all of guitar music. So I had to do this one, cliche or not cliche... I heard this tune - and it triggered a new chapter of my life 7 years ago - i had to play guitar. It is an honor to carbon copy this tune note for note. Stevie's music is like an unstoppable force, a limitless tap of pure musical power.
I am going to continue copying stuff for atleast 10 more videos. Then I will switch it up and go all improv
Unfortunately I was struggling in getting the tone. I believe I got much closer in getting the "Lenny" sound, the "#1" sound, however is ever-so-ilusive as always
But I'm not gonna dwell on the failures, and just play from the heart, ya know? It's ok for what it is.
Left pan is the fender BJ.
Right pan is the marshall plexi.
Both are running pretty quiet - because i'm in an apartment.
If only i could really crank those amps - I would probably be able to get the tone then. Aw well. Some time i will get a house, then I will be able to crank them.
