Since the last video spawned a lot of requests for more videos, i decided to follow it up with this video of my song "Zyglrox":

In the video i am once again using my stock Ibanez RGA 121 (tuned to AGCFAD) into my Engl Invader 100 and Vader 4x12 in this clip. I was too lazy to set up the rack and pedalboard this time as well, so this is just the raw amp sound on Channel 3 (hi-gain on/bright on this time/noise gate on) with no pedals or effects.

its a little sloppy at parts, but i didnt feel like doing a million takes and the overall take was solid and i felt it got the idea across, worry not i will have lots of practicing to do as this and "Totla mad" will both be on the Periphery album and performed live as well!

i dont know when the next show will be as we are focusing on recording the album right now, but probably in a months time or so, we are using this time to learn a bunch of newer songs too!

you'll hear it a lot in mordern down-tuned metal. I know Mastodon uses it often (not so much on the more recent stuff)

Wow dude, you are an excellent musician. Not entirely my cup of coffy, but I really liked some parts. I gotta mess with that tuning a bit ....

Aaaah .... now I know how they get that ... "tribal/chromatic" tone ... funny the only time when I was able to get close to that sound was when I was fretting A an B on the low E string as my palm muted pedal notes. Modern Metal to me is Nightwish, EdGuy, Epica, Stratovarious, Angra which I guess is not so modern, that's why I am not familiar with that tuning, but sounds cool. Engle sounds amazing, I was considering one for a while .... but then some people scared with the whole "not the best build quality and no tech in U.S. who know them" thing.

i ended up with that tuning because i was on vacation, and only had my 6 string to record with (normally i play a 7 tuned to drop Ab) so i had to find a way to get the range i normally got without compromising the playability too much haha

Misha... I'm really sorry to hear about losing Casey! I can totally understand his decision, as he does have a very 'pop' voice and writing style, he just injected something into a genre that's in dire need of innovation that'll be sorely missed! You guys combined was an absolute supergroup, and I can only hope the guys auditioning can fill his shoes adequately!
