This is one of the very earliest production Dimarzios. Its a late 70's Square tab PAF @ 8.29K.
Its a PAF copy.
I don't think Dimarzio was going for a strict sonic replica of a Vintage Gibson PAF, but something fat, chewey and smooth.
Fine bridge pickup for aLes paul..maybe a tad dark / wooly for the neck, although I use one in the neck of my Ash Tele and it has a sweet warm tone with a nice bite.
Add to that these have some age on the magnets and wire to sweeten the tone, and these old Dimarzios are now one of the best kept secrets for vintage tone, but not as much recently , as more and more people become aware of them, and fewer are around for sale it seems.
This one is in better than average shape, especially for its age,with a few cosmetic marks I tried to show in the pics.Leads have been cut down as shown.
