Vintage Framus Acoustic?

Hey guys,

Phone rang a few days ago, and it was my lovely Grandmother in law. She's cleaning out her barn in British Columbia, and is finding some interesting stuff. Her late husband (who I never had the pleasure of meeting) was a guitar, mandolin and banjo player (how sweet is all that?). I'm married in but I've spent a lot of time getting to know my in laws so when interesting gear is found, I'm called. I'm also restoring an old Kay Mandolin that used to be her husband's. It's a very involved project to say the least. Anyways.

She found this up in the loft:

She asked if I'd want it, but she said it was very "weathered". It could be in junk shape, or it could be just in need of a set up. I don't know when I'll be getting my hands on it, but sooner than later.

From my own googling, it seems to be a Framus Texan 12-string. Late 60's I would figure.

I'll update when I get my hands on it.

Re: Vintage Framus Acoustic?

Looks an old Framus made in the 70ies. Those have nothing in common with the nowadays Framus. They were made of thick plywood, built like a brickhouse and heavy. The neck was huge and flat on the back like a giant D. A friend used to call them 'rabbit hutch'.
