Vintage Stack for Tele - What is it?

I was curious to what exactly a Vintage Stack for Tele is ... what does it mean that it's a stack ... is it a humbucker only ontop of each other instead of beside each other?

Re: Vintage Stack for Tele - What is it?

Ok so would it be worth it to wire it with a series parallel switch or no?

Worth it? Dunno.. Try it. In parallel it will be quieter and brighter, so if you like it, it's worth it! :)

i use that set in my tele clone and i use the 4-way to get n+b series and n+b parallel ... i like that mod alot

i do not think that most guys do a internal series / parallel wiring with the stacks, prefering to do the wiring which cuts one coil out of the stack ... i *think* this is right, but can't find the documentation that came with the pups to confirm ... suffice to say that i didnt do the mod when i installed mine

i really like that set alot - great tone!

good luck

Well, I have the Hot Stack (same thing but with a bar magnet and more winds) in my Tele wired to a series/parallel switch, and I love it. Series sounds fat, powerful, and balanced - parallel is bright, punchy, and twangy. Excellent mod for that pickup. Hard to say how it would sound on the lower output Vintage Stack, but it can't hurt to try! :)
