Violin Pickups

I just brought a secondhand Fender FV3 Electric Violin and the pickup is very low gain. I want to replace it. Does anyone have experience doing this or opinions on what I should consider?

Actually, if you're happy with the tone, but just want it louder, try the Pickup Booster.

I'm not famalier with what type of pickup it is. Can you post a pic? A Distortion would certainly change the tone...or a JB for that 80's violin sound. :laugh2:

Check stewmac.com they have a number of transducers for violins. Something from the guitar world would be an imperfect solution. More than likely you just need a decent piezo preamp to boost the output enough to feed an amp.

Dude it aint your violin or the new pick up, its your amp bro. Just get Marshall Major, problem solved.
