If wiring an HH guitar with the following selections, in your opinion, is the difference in sound between positions 2 and 4 worth giving up a position or should one position be used for parallel neck or a bridge slug coil / neck screw coil parallel or other selection for Stratty tones?

1. Neck Series
2. Neck Screw Coil / Bridge Slug Coil Series
3. Neck & Bridge Parallel
4. Bridge Screw / Neck Slug Series
5. Bridge Series

Similar question about the folllowing

2. Neck Screw Coil / Bridge Slug Coil Parallel

4. Bridge Screw / Neck Slug Parallel
5. Bridge Series

ArtieToo's 'coil swap mod' does your position 2 and 4. It's a great virtual HB sound, but the two are pretty similar so you only need one of them; I'd go with bridge slug/neck screw. Likewise, in your second list, 2 and 4 are going to be very similar, and again I'd go with the bridge slug/neck screw.

Thanks blueman335, how would you compare the sounds of the neck screw coil / bridge slug coil Parallel to the neck pickup alone in parallel?

I really like the coil match of bridge slug/neck screw. Since the coils are separated you get a softer virtual HB sound, not so bright and thin as parallel. Very usable tone. To me, unless you have a really hot PU, in parallel it sounds kind of neutered.

Thanks blueman335, I was asking about the two parallel situations and which might be better, not series. This is an Air Zone and Air Norton. The question is, how would you compare the sounds of the neck screw coil / bridge slug coil Parallel to the neck pickup alone in parallel?
