Volume mod Hughes Kettner Tube Factor

Hi!

I ordered a Tube Factor yesterday. I did own one a few years back and hell I miss that thing!

But..

I remember that the channel 2 on the pedal is in volume a bit louder than channel 1. Is there anyone that knows a mod for this? I know OKKO from Germany does but I can't seem to find a right webpage to how to do it.

And does anyone know if i want to replace the tube in it.. do you have to set the bias for the tube or just put it in and play?

It is a preamp tube, so you don't have to bias it at all. You can swap out tubes all you want. I believe channel 2 of that pedal adds diode clipping to the tube, so it is going to be louder, though.

Yeah that's right. The channel 2 is louder.. so that's why I need a mod for it.

im sure there is a way to do it but i dont know what needs to be swapped and obviously youll be voiding the warranty. got a schematic?

Tomorrow I will replace the stock tube for a tung-sol 12AX7. I think that will make a huge difference.

Still looking for a mod for the volume on channel 2..

I have replaced the tube...

Wow! Sounds awesome! And the volume difference between ch. 1 and 2 is much better! (More balanced)
