Haven't used any of these but I am insterested in what kind of input you get from the Peanut gallery

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

Personally, I would try the subdecay spring theory, that thing looks awesome and would fit you requirement for 'springy'

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

dang this isn't making it any easier that subdecay spring theory looks and sounds awesome and it's around the price I'd like to spend. It's just tough because the PGS demos for all of them are good.

I've always wanted to have a go at building one of these:

Also, the malekko omicron spring pedal looks nice, and small

bump! any other takers I was hoping to have more than three people provide feedback :)

Hey I'm new to the forum and came across this thread...

I have found a really unique way to get a reverb sound using two delay pedals. I accidentally found it during a pre gig rehearsal. I first send the signal through a boss digital delay with a longish echo. Then I send the output to my 80s tokai analogue delay with a much shorter echo(almost slapback). And that goes directly into a clean amp. Cool cool sound and very reminiscent to a 60s fender surf sound surprisingly. Also can get some u2 ish stuff.

I miss having a true fender reverb since I sold my fender combo.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

that's a cool approach I've been thinking of adding a second "analog" delay to my setup. EHX Deluxe Memory Boy, DMB Pedals Lunar Echo, etc are some that come to mind.

Right now I have a lot of bases covered with a TC Electronic Nova Delay iB modified.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

Was gonna say the Line 6 Verbzilla. That's what I have and I dig it. However, it's pretty crazy that only a few short years ago, the only real options for pedal reverb were the Verbzilla and the Holy Grail. After looking at the PGS site, it seems that there are a ton more options. The boutique guys started making their own. Neat!

I voted other. I use a Little Lanalei. Great verb, real spring!

yep I had a TC HOF reverb (almost got a verbzilla) and it's cool but I've just realized that for the most part I'm a vintagey guy I want a spring reverb that I can use for surf, blues, and country predominantly. On maxed out settings it'd still be cool for psychedelic and volume swells and being a delay freak (and strange noise generator freak enter ravish sitar, rainbow machine, and organizer) the novelty reverb settings aren't really useful for me.

I'd rather just have a higher quality spring setting since that's the tone I really like and what suits my vintage roots.

And lately I've been on a boutique pedal kick. I'd rather have quality than quantity.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

Holy Grail all the way. I have posted on it's charms often. There is just something 'organic' about for lack of a better term. Just killer for that sproing you need. One knob - good to go. NAILS "Don't Fear The Reaper"

Extended range on the other half of the knob towards 10 - surf city. Check it out.

Do a search on Aceman / Grail - read them all.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

Not that i have one, but i love the sounds of the Vanamps Soul-Mate, and the Soul Mate Jr !

I also heard only good things from the Strymon Blue Reverberator - an i want one !

Me too. Like it so much I haven't felt the need to search for something that's maybe 1% better. Only thing I've heard that I like better is the regular Fender spring reverb that's built into a 60's style blackface Fender amp.

Re: Vote for your favorite "spring" reverb pedal

The spring setting on the Verbzilla is excellent and it has a load of other great settings too. Very cool pedal. I find it slightly tone-sucky - you can hear the difference when it's in or out of your signal chain. Nothing you can't compensate for at the amp, but if you're a true bypass purist you might not like it.
