VOX 848 clyde wah

well my morley crapped out yesterday,

so i bought a vox 848 clyde wah today,
and im really pleased with it
i wanted a wah with an adapter jack and true bypass so i went with it

i played it through a strat through a blues junior at the store
and i loved the range i could get with the thing
i also liked the fact that it didnt add clipping like my morley did.
just very vocal and expressive
*this is random, but one thing i noticed, my laney lc15-r and the blues junior sounds awfully close..hmm

well, since i don't rely on my parents for gear anymore..
ever since i bought the laney with my own money, i've been independent in buying gear..(ex. plexitone and other accesories)
makes you feel good when you save up and use it to something good!

i guess techincally, its their money, but it feels good not to ask them for money when buying stuff ya know?

I have a V848 and really like it too. It's a lot more vocal than the basic CryBabys and V847s plus it has the true bypass and DC In. Every now and then I think about going upmarket or getting my old CryBaby modded, but the V848 works great for the stuff I do.

I have the same Wah pedal. I use this with my Marshall 900. I have a early 60's Crybaby (Thomas Organ Company) that I use more. This Wah was modded by John Spina and it is ine of the best Wahs I have ever used, but the Clyde is an excellent Wah pedal right out of the box. GOod luck with it!

I used to have an original Clyde McCoy, with the cute carrying bag, but lost it long ago during oneof many moves. I'm currently using the wah on my VOX Tonelab pedalboard. If it's tweaked right, it sounds as good as anything else they put out (IMO).

I have my own 848 that I got off E Bay for $100....I then went with both a Fulltone inductor and pot,did some board tweaks and made it a really vocal wah with great sweep! I then modded one for Curly,as he also bought an 848 for $100 right after me..Great wah stock though!
