Now that I have the Weber Mass, I wish I'd never sold my VOX AC-30. Anybody have a nice one for sale? Or for trade? Thanks! Lew

Re: Vox AC-30 and Weber Mass...

It plugs in between your amp's speaker output jack and the amp's speaker. There's actually a 50 watt speaker inside the box, but no cone...so it makes no sound at all. It soaks up alot of the amp's output so the sound that comes out of the amp's speaker is lowered to any degree you set the attenuation to. I can crank up my 50 watt Marshall to volume 7 or 8, if I want to, and turn it back down again with Weber Mass. So I get the tone of a cranked Marshall at non-ear damaging volume levels. It's very cool and much more natural and lively sounding than a master volume control.

To me, this implies an external speaker is necessary to make it work. Yes?

Not really. I use it with my Fender Super Reverb and also my Deluxe Reverb.

You plug the amp's speaker into the Mass and the Mass into the speaker output jack of the amp.

My hearing is declining at such a rapid rate that I simply cannot play loud anymore.

I don't have one for sale, but I can tell you that AC30s and attenuators go together like peanut butter and jelly!

Back when I was running vintage AC30s I bought and sold a lot with the guys at Tone Heaven...

Cheers,
Jason
