Vox AD series owners - input again please!

Hey, wanted to ask a few q's about your vox AD series experience. I now have one from GC and of course have the 30 days to decide if I want to keep it. There are some things I love on this little guy, but on a few of the models, I'm getting an annoying amount of background noise, even with the noise reduction engaged. I'm curious if it is my particular amp or common to the animal.

Particularly noticable on both the boutique settings, especially on the boutique OD with the gain 6+, (but again, not limited to high gain) when you let a chord (or single note, for that matter) ring, as it begins to decay I hear it being replaced with a hissing that almost swells up, then fades (whether effects engaged or not). If I play lightly or almost when I touch the strings at all, it also happens, reminds me of an audible version of white noise on a TV screen. If it wasn't for this, keeping this amp would be a no brainer. As it is, it is a tough call, 'cause both of those models are/would be particularly useful to me. I love that boutique OD model, but the extra noise is just unacceptable for me.

Anything like this in your experience with this amp, or do I have a faulty one? Of course this was the only 30 watt one in our GC, I had the 15W version for a couple of days and didn't notice this, but it had a rattle in the cab and I like the 10" speaker and extra volume on the AD30.

I did not notice this on my 50 watter as common to any particular model. But I was starting to get various weird noises such as that a couple days before it toasted itself.

Volume swells..."glitches"...increased hiss, slight popping/cracking when switching models, effects turning on and off by themselves, etc.

hey jeffb, my 30 watter is currently doing the same thing you mentioned yours doing before it toasted itself. i was thinking maybe tube going out, but guess not huh? was there anyway to repair yours or you did you get it looked at. i loved this thing for the first 3 months, now i cannot even play it. switching from preset to manual and back just crackles and the volume goes through the roof!!!! and the effects section, reverb and delay just kind of take turns with each other, no matter which one you are currently on. lots of popping and static when you turn it on, even with volume and master all the way down. and the overall sound is just static, even the fairlyl mild uk 80's model sounds like an am radio at dusk.
