Vox AD60VT versus AD50VT

There's quite a large price difference between these two models (both combos)

The AD60VT has more amp models, effects and programs, but is it really worth the extra money?

Don't get the AD60VT if you're leaning that way. Get the AD60VTX or VTH. The VTX has a better cabinet and I think the better speaker. The VTH is just the head.

Does the 50 have a speaker out? If so, it could be a cheap way to get into the modeling game if you would be satisfied with a few models, a couple of clean and distortion presets and you use a good cabinet with good speakers. Otherwise just get the VTX or even better, the head and a good cabinet. I have the AD60VTX and got a great 2X12 to use with it and I love it.

Get the head. I miss read and thought the 60 watter was only a head. Guess I should read closer.

If I could do it again, I would get the head and not the combo. And I would get the 120

I'm not sure the higher end stuff sounds twice as good (since it's twice the price), but it does sound *better*.

I think if $ were an issue, I'd go with the 50W combo and an extension cab or the new 100W head and cab, unless you really need the stompboxes (and on some models, like the Marshalls, the stompers really help) or you need alot of pre-sets.

Definitely buy the head, so you have the benefit of a better quality cab with Celestions. That's the only way most of the midgain models like Marshalls will sound right. The 60W is plenty loud, and if you're just using it as a home practice rig, go with that one. If you may be using it with 2 cabs and keeping up with a drummer, get the 120. Another difference is the 60W has 1 recording out, while the 120 has stereo recording outs.

I think Vox discontinued the 60 watt head. Should be able to find one on ebay tho.

Definitely on the cab! As soon as I got my Earcandy and loaded it with the V30 & G12H30 the Marshall models came to life.
