VOX tonelab frustrations...help.....

I am running a vox TONELAB through a tech 21 power engine 60. My problem is that neither of the "line out" settings sounds good through ANY amp I own. I know the realistic tones are in there, I can hear them when I plug in a good set of headphones, but I can't seem to coax them out through an amp.

The "AMP" setting sounds very muffled and distant no matter what I do EQ-wise. The "LINE" setting sounds somewhat thin, sterile, an a bit harsh, and I lose the rich lushness and sparkle that I hear on the clean channels through headphones.

I note that there are more "line out" options on the LE version of the tonelab, and that there is a way to EQ it to any system you run it through. Perhaps VOX has realized this was a weakness and corrected it??

Anyone have any suggestions? Solutions? that you have stumbled upon while playing live with these things??

BTW- I have spent countless hours/days/weeks/months tweaking each program and trying all the standard approaches to solving my problem, so please don't think its from the lack of trying. I have tried it through three other amps with the same results, so the amp is out of the equation.

i've had both and the le was much better. you have to adjust the output type like on a pod and gt-8. call korg (at least i think that's who supports the vox). i did before and got a knowledgeable person on the phone right away. which one do you have now, the se?
