Vox Virage SC?

I'm getting an off-budget check for a reasonable amount soon, and I have the corner of my eye on a box Vox Virage, with triple-coil DiMarzios. Does anyone have any experience with this particular guitar? Thoughts and opinions?

is that the semi hollow kinda lp looking one with contours? ive played one before, it was cool. it has the three output/voicing switch which is cool too. didnt love the neck, but im used to a baseball bat

Yes, Jeremy, the higher end models were that, and the body itself was curved.

The high end ones were made in Japan in not significant quantities, so they're not as easy to come by, and can be $$. The triple coil pu versions were first, then later they developed those 'co-axe' pups, which are like P90s with a different noise-cancelling architecture, and also switchable options.

Then there were various Korean ones, also solid or semi hollow bodies, in single or double cut format (the latter has florentine cutaways). The hardware and pups seems to be also the same as the Japan models. Just the base MIK model had some sort of mini hums.

The semi-hollow ones are actually mostly hollowed out, don't have a conventional centre block.

gotcha, i think i played mij version. it was like $1500 used in decent, but not perfect shape

The one I'm giving the side-eye to is a single-cut, first rev Japanese model, not cheap, but not too pricey either, for what seems to be a fairly well-built guitar ... Jeremy, how would you describe the neck profile? I'm a bit of a baseball-bat player as well...

my go to neck carve is like a warmoth fatback. this had a thinner c, not super skinny or anything. i only spent a little time with it, im sure i could get used to it, just like anything else. body was super comfy

Good you hear! I grew up on acoustics, so my hand tends to like the feel of a chunkier neck. Thanks for you input!
