For those of you that use a pedalboard and a wah, volume and/or expression pedal, do you put it on the board or keep it off-board? My mini board is quickly growing to a full sized board, but I'm not sure if I want the wah and volume on the new, expanded board.

On the board. I have the expression above the wah/vol because I use it sparingly. It is plugged into the Eventide Pichfactor to work like a Super Whammy. It is also there because it made it difficult to access the second row of pedals when I had it on the first row.

Just built a whole new rig and new board and the answer is yes, yes, yes. I have a wah, volume and exp pedal all on the board. I actually like rocker pedals on an angle more than laying flat, thus why they went on the board.

I have a spare piece of board cut to fit the wah only, if i need the wah then i carry it along otherwise leave it home, it just adds unnecessary weight to carry along otherwise. On my floor mfx (gt10), the exp pedal is fixed to the whole unit so no option there to abandon it.

Definitely ON the board. I use a Morley Mark Tremonti Wah and a Digitech Whammy (5th gen- still the latest model, I think), They are both really large pedals, and even though I have an SKB Stage Five pedalboard (big powered board), I also eventually ran out of space. I decided to take the Wah and Whammy pedals (both of which I use a LOT) off the board to make room for some terribly overpriced "boutique" pedals that I will hardly ever use. Yep, because THAT makes sense. :-P Anyway, to make a long story short, I foolishly thought it would be no biggie to put just those two pedals on the stage floor, just to the right of my board. What a royal pain in the buttocks THAT turned out to be! I had already been doing that fairly effectively with my wireless receiver for years, but with a big Wah and almost as large Whammy, it quickly turned into a nightmare of patch cables and power supply wiring, not to mention having to lug around two more awkward, cumbersome pieces of gear. That scene lasted all of about 3 weeks before I yanked enough pedals back off of my board to accomodate my Wah and Whammy again. It was just too much unnecessary work and hassle to be worth it.
