Walter Trout tone

Anyone know what kind of pickups Walter Trout uses?

Are they hot or low output? They sound pretty hot to my ears.

What SD pickups would get me close to his tone? I'm thinking ssl-5/6, or the ssl-3. The Hot may be TOO hot though.

Not so great of a tone, too much of a high volume distorted set up.

Don’t really care for his songs.

Me too!
I think he uses the middle pickup a lot as well, sure I read that somewhere.

great chops but not my favorite tone either. dude can play circles around me though. i had some virtual2's from dimarzio and i liked them. not a traditional strat tone but nice

Seymour Duncan, made me a set of custom pickups, which I had put on the guitar for this tour. I think they are amazing. On the back they say SWD for WT. Seymour had signed them.

I'm curious as to what these are, exactly.
