Here are my newest additions to my Wampler pedals and the Pedal Palette that I will use to control their selection...

Re: Wampler pedals

You've got a great collection, the tremolo looks interesting.

I've got a pinnacle that is pretty sweet. I'd like to try out the Plexidrive and Plextortion. Velvet Fuzz is also tempting as well. I like Brian's podcasts, he seems like a guy is get along with well.

Re: Wampler pedals

Jesus, that's a fair amount of dough in stompbox form! Their Tweed '57 is out of this world, and the pinnacle seems pretty great.

Thanks, but they are just added to my collection.... (Four more will complete it)Then I have to place them all on a new pedal board, which is going to have to combine all the pedals on to one 'massive' board.

Re: Wampler pedals

Currently, two different boards are kept at different clubs. But I need to make one board of the best pedals...Especially since I also use a TriAxis, Eleven Rack, HD500X at different times...I will work on this project, and then get the rest into storage.

Re: Wampler pedals

Interesting that you've got the Pinnacle and a CM Plexitone. I've had two PTs and loved them both (still have the second one, and won't sell it). I picked-up a Pinnacle Deluxe over the summer and hated it. Sounded like bland mush to me compared to the PT. Didn't last more than a few days before I sold it off. I've also got an Option 5 Destination Overdrive that's still around that I like, and am on my second Bogner Red (with a Blue showing-up tomorrow), that I also like a LOT (into my Supersonic Twin). At any rate, it's entirely possible that the amps that I tried the Pinnacle with just weren't a good match for it. I was just very disappointed after having lusted after it for so long. Would be curious about your opinions of the Pinnacle versus the PT.

Another SD Member posted how much he liked the Carl Martin Plexitone, so I purchased one.

The Plexitone is the absolute best sounding Marshall "vibe" type sound in a pedal effect I've used to date and I've modded alot of pedals over the years...I wouldn't change anything inside of my Plexitone and in fact, haven't even opened it up!
PS: STRATDELUXE97 thanks for that post years ago...

I love it! Most natural (If that is the best way to describe it) Marshall Plexi tone in a pedal...

Wampler Pinnacle is pretty much as you described it, with a little harshness to boot! BUT, the Wampler Plextortion has a nice crunch tone in it.

I also have a Bogner 'Uberschall' pedal, which is OK... But it's nothing like my Bogner Ecstasy head, playing into a 4X12 cabinet.

Just in case, someone failed to actually checked the internet... and then decided to slag a post in a mean spirited manner toward another member...

Each Wampler Pedal is hand built in the U.S.A. using only the best parts available.

The Plexitone is definitely my favorite pi$$ed-off plexi in a box. Got the early VH thing down well. In fact, the closest I ever came to the early EVH tone was with the Plexitone on the Blue channel of the XTC Classic that I used to have. I set that channel to "plexi" mode and used the Plexitone pedal to get most of the drive. It totally nailed the early EVH brown sound. Only other amp that I ever played that was as close was my friend's Splawn Quickrod... or was it the ProMod that he had before? I don't remember but it was one of those and it nailed it as well.

Re: Wampler pedals

I really want a Plexi Drive, a '57, and a '65. Oh yeah, and the AC clone. I know a guy that works there and does some of their youtube demos. One of the most impressive players I've ever seen. If you like good guitar playing (not shred), you should buy his last cd 'Juggling Dynamite'. OK, I'm done pimpin' him. It's just too bad most of you will never get to see him play live.

Re: Wampler pedals

I've got the Plexidrive. Real nice JTM45 vibe. I'd love to try the Sovereign. The samples on Youtube sound nice.
