Wampler Triple Wreck

What's up everyone?
WOW what a pedal. I'm so pleased with this thing. I was looking for another form of gain as I use my amps gain channel and I love it but I also like the sound of Mesa Boogies as my next amp will be a TC-50.
This pedal however has a very Mesa Tone to it and believe it or not response. I'm pretty impressed with it.
Here is the very funny thing about it, it's actually better then the Mesa Pedals. I had the Throttle box and thought it was a nice pedal but nothing special. It didn't have the attack of a actual Mesa drive channel or did it get to the clarity and grace of a mesa. But man this Wampler Pedal does all that. I'm a bit shocked it's this good.
On another note this is my first( now not the last) Wampler pedal I have ever owned. Are the rest of their pedals this good?

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

What a crappy picture. The flash completely washed out the triple Wreck.

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

Yes, I like it as well. It turns my Princeton Reverb into a fire breathing beast. ;) I think technically it's a Fuzz pedal with a big bottom end, but it works for me.

I'm a big fan of Wampler pedals, I've got quite a few now. If you like his idea of what an "amp in a box" pedal sounds like, you'll like the others as well.

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

I have a few Wampler pedals as well (EGO Compressor, Tumnus OD, Plextortion, Catapulp, etc.), and have not been disappointed...

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

I'm starting a collection of rect-o-pedals, and this is at the top of my list right now.

Does anyone else suspect the Throttle Box is voiced the way it is to undermine the notion that the sound of a Rectifier amp can be captured in a pedal?

I owned the Throttle box before the Triple Wreck and it's amazing the Triple Wreck sounds more like a Mesa then their own pedal does. I didn't care for the Throttle box as it's difficult to dial in. I'm sure it's built as claimed but I didn't feel it man.

Much Better pic. I don't know what happened to that last one. Looks like the flash washed it all out.

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

I love my Wampler Triple Wreck!!! It's a great pedal on its own but it works really great when stacked with a Clarskdale in front of it!!!

Re: Wampler Triple Wreck

At one point while reading this thread I became annoyed (and not for the first time) that I hadn't played through a Rectifier. So last weekend I did it. I didn't even dig into the power tubes, but I'll say this: It has a way of taking all that stuff the pedals try to do and making it endlessly musical. It was just the perfect state of being on the verge of cutting, yet warm and gooey. Heavy yet singing. I freaking loved it.
